A Message from our President

On behalf of the entire GBYSA organization, I would like to thank you for visiting our website. It is hard to believe that we are about to embark on the 2007-2008 Soccer Season. Since becoming involved with this program 16 years ago, I have seen it grow from 250 children to over 1600 and I am very happy to be a part of its growth along with the many volunteer board members and coaches who have helped make this program what it is today and what it hopefully will be in the future.

There are many new and exciting things going on in our organization that I would like to share. Our Recreational program will continue using small sided games in all divisions thru U12 to improve our players skill development and enjoyment. We will continue to utilize the services of Munga, Ray and Eric in assisting our Coaches and players to improve their skills and understanding of the game. Our Adult Soccer Program, which has already been a huge success is continuing to grow. This season we will be starting a new program, START SMART SOCCER for all children 3 – 5 years old. This instructional program is designed for parents who want to help their children develop the basic motor skills and confidence that will enable them to enjoy participation in the program in years to come. More information regarding this program will be available at registration and on our web site.

Speaking of our website, we are embarking on a complete redesign that will not only make the site more professional looking, but will also help make it easier to communicate with parents about news and events occurring in our soccer club. We are creating a subscription section, by which we can email parents directly about upcoming special events, important notices and any other items that may affect our program. We are also looking for volunteers to help us post game summaries and reports that will be available for all to read on the website. We also encourage you to submit your photos for posting in our online photo gallery. Parents are a valuable tool to our organization, and we hope that you will help us develop a world class website to go along with our world class soccer club.

As you can see this will be an exciting year for our program and I hope that each and every person that registers to play this year in our Start Smart, Recreational, Advanced Training and Adult programs will have an enjoyable and unforgettable FUN experience.

Sincerely,

Arty Birnbaum
