FAQ’s ABOUT GBYSA
WHEN AND WHERE CAN I SIGN UP FOR SOCCER?
The In-Person Registration dates are Saturday June 9, 2012 & August 25, 2012 at Eagles Landing High School from 9:00 AM to 12:30
There is a final night registration on Tuesday August 27, 2012 at Olympic Heights High School starting at 7:00 PM SHARP
If you miss any of the 3 registration dates, you can sign your child up for the season on the waiting list posted on this site during the second week of September.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The In-Person registration fee is $120.00 for the first child and $100.00 for each sibling. If you miss the In-Person registration, the waiting list fee is $130 per child.
WHAT AGE DO WE START?
Children must be entering Kindergarten as of August for the current season.
WHEN DOES THE SOCCER SEASON START?
There are two seasons. Regular Season starts in November and ends in late February. Mini Season starts in March and ends in late May.
WHAT ARE THE FORMATS FOR EACH SEASON?
Regular season is up to an 11 v 11 format (based on age group). Mini season is a 5 v 5 format.
WHEN DO THE CHILDREN PRACTICE AND PLAY?
The children practice only one night a week. This choice of the day is made by the coach and will not be
known until teams are put together. The younger children practice at 6:15 PM and the older children practice at 7:45 PM.
Most Games are on Saturday, with an occasional game on Sunday afternoon. The actual date and time of the games is not known until the schedule finalized.
WHERE DO THE CHILDREN PRACTICE AND PLAY?
There are two locations where teams practice and play. Younger children practice and play at Loggers' Run Park, older children are at South County Regional Park. Please see the link for field status and locations on our home page.
WHAT WILL MY CHILD NEED TO PLAY SOCCER?
For practice your child will need an appropriate sized soccer ball for their age, as well as soccer cleats and shin guards. Remember football or baseball cleats are not allowed.
For games your child will to need to be in their GBYSA uniform - team socks, shorts and shirt, as well as their shin guards and cleats.
WHAT IF MY CHILD WANTS TO BE ON A SPECIFIC TEAM or PRACTICE ON A CERTAIN NIGHT?
With 1500 children in our league, we cannot honor any requests.
HOW GBYSA DETERMINES AN AGE GROUP?
We use the player’s age as of August 1, for that season's year.

page, and of course you can sponsor your child’s team.
